In Passover we read: "In every generation they rise up to destroy us and God saves us from their hands." 1)
This simple sentence does not convey the depth of horror and suffering. It does not convey the heroism of those who survive and manage to stay kind, decent and not go insane with grief and disgust at the glee we see in normal people who commit acts of evil. 2)
And how can you explain what is probably the greatest miracle in human history - our survival against all odds. It's not possible but that's what it is.
The same horror. The same triumph. The same miracle.
